International work and collaboration

Region Västernorrland participates in several collaborative projects and partnerships mainly in Europe.

The chief objectives is to create prerequisites for a positive regional development but also to improve the services to citizens and customers.  This is carried out through:

  • Political work in actual issues on the EU agenda and participation in European collaborative organisations.
  • Interregional co-operation and twinning projects.  
  • Participation in developmental projects along with partners within the county and internationally.

Region Västernorrland is one of the partners in Mid Sweden Office with a representation in Brussels. MSO is a partnership between the county councils, the county boards and the federations of municipalities in the counties of Jämtland and Västernorrland.
